2025 SMRFA Scholarship
The Sierra Madre Rose Float Association is seeking applications from qualified applicants for its annual scholarship award. One scholarship totaling $1,500 will be awarded to the most qualified applicant. To be considered for the award, an applicant must be a student in or just completing their senior year in high school or a freshman in college, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have contributed substantial service to the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association. Consideration for this award shall be based solely on the following criteria:
Service to the Sierra Madre Rose Float Association: Scholarship applicants must have been active in one or more Sierra Madre Rose Float activities, such as fundraising, design, construction, decorating, sales booth worker, or as a past or present float rider.
Academic Performance: Strong academic performance is expected from each applicant, and all who apply must have at least a 3.0 grade point average. Please enclose an “unofficial” transcript. An official transcript may be requested at a later date.
Community Service: Service to the community is how we keep our communities strong. All applicants should explain how service to their community affects their lives.
Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation are required. One should address your academic achievements, and one should specifically address your service to the community. Please download the “High School/College Recommendation” and “Service Recommendation" forms. After completion, please send each letter in a separate sealed envelope or by email to scholarship@sierramadrerosefloat.org.
This application and all recommendation letters must be postmarked (SMRFA, PO Box 603, Sierra Madre, CA 91025) no later than Monday, May 19, 2025, or emailed by Monday, May 19, 2025, to scholarship@sierramadrerosefloat.org
Any application and supporting material received late will not be considered.
