VOLUNTEER
Find out all ways you can participate.

1

BUILD

From March until October, we build the framework of the float. That includes welding, character modeling, and painting. We usually work on Thursdays and Sundays at our float barn. We’d love to have you join us to share your skills and enthusiasm. We also can teach you skills if you’re a novice.

2

DECORATION (we call it deco)

Once the float is built, that’s when we begin to “deco”. The process starts with seeds and dry products painstakingly glued onto the float. The last few days before the parade are when the live flowers are attached.

  • Help us grow plants and flowers.

  • Volunteer to meet and greet people from our booth at local events.

  • Help us process incoming volunteers and purchases on the computer during deco week

  • Pitch in on set up for our BINGO fundraisers

  • Come take photos for our social media and website

  • Help write and upkeep our website and social media pages

  • We need some under 30’s to help us keep up-to-date.

  • Every year we accept applications for float ambassadors between the ages 15 and 18 who live in Sierra Madre. Check back frequently between Aug. 1 and Oct. 15 for application information.

DESIGN

Just days after the parade it’s time to start thinking about next year’s float. This is when you can really flex your creativity! The incoming president of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses® will announce the parade theme. You have about 3 weeks to submit your best ideas. Anyone can design a parade float!
